Never Let Me Down is the seventeenth studio album by British artist David Bowie, released on 20 April 1987 via EMI America Records. After a series of diverse projects, Bowie hoped to make his next record differently following the critical failure of Tonight (1984). It was recorded at Mountain Studios in Montreux, Switzerland, and at the Power Station in New York from September to November 1986. It was co-produced by Bowie and David Richards and featured contributions from Peter Frampton on guitar. Musically, Never Let Me Down is marked by a return to rock, which the artist desired after two albums of dance-pop. The cover features Bowie surrounded by many elements from the songs.
