Muse celebrates the twentieth anniversary of ‘Origin Of Symmetry’ with the release of ‘Origin Of Symmetry: XX Anniversary RemiXX’. As this anniversary approaches, the band has enlisted Rich Costey, a Grammy Award-winning producer who has produced or mixed tracks on nearly all of their subsequent albums, to revisit the original recordings. While most remix albums aim to radically reshape the tracks or explore a completely different musical genre, Muse and Costey wanted to provide them with renewed clarity, a more open, dynamic sound that is less compressed. It also benefits from mastering done by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios. ‘XX Anniversary RemiXX’ also adds ‘Futurism’ to the tracklist. Initially a bonus on the Japanese edition of the album, then placed at the end of the album on streaming platforms, ‘Futurism’ now brings a communicative energy, linking ‘Feeling Good’ and ‘Megalomania’. This choice echoes its presence in the 2019 ‘Origin of Muse’ box set. ‘Origin of Symmetry: XX Anniversary RemiXX’ concludes with a modern reinterpretation of the album cover, signed by Sujin Kim. The visual artist has created a hyper-realistic 3D rendering of the original cover image by William Eager.
