SERGE GAINSBOURG - Lola Rastaquouere (12")

Lola Rastaquouère is one of the most iconic tracks from Serge Gainsbourg's reggae album, Aux armes et cætera, released in 1979.
The title is based on a pun between "rasta" (for rastafari) and "rastaquouère", a term that once referred to a foreigner with suspicious displays of wealth or a cheap adventurer.
Gainsbourg recounts his encounter with a woman named Lola. He uses bold and erotic metaphors, notably comparing her eyes to those of an "Abyssinian cat" and making reference to the plane.
