Released on 28 May 1991, Gish is the debut studio album by the American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. Produced by Butch Vig and lead singer Billy Corgan, it was recorded in Madison, Wisconsin, on a budget of $20,000. Blending grunge, psychedelia, and heavy metal, it was certified platinum by the RIAA.
