LIFEGUARD - Dressed In Trenches (EP)

On July 14th, will see the release of Dressed in Trenches, the new EP from Chicago trio Lifeguard. First single, “17-18 Lovesong” is a propulsive cut of dissonant punk with mathy drumming, discordant guitar lines, razor-wire bass, and throat-tearing vocals. Where “17-18 Lovesong” displays the band’s virtuosic playing and penchant for complex sonics, “Alarm”, the EP focus track, is an exhilarating explosion of post-hardcore bliss. Loud, hooky, and hair-raisingly kinetic. Emerging from Chicago’s DIY scene with labelmates Horsegirl, Lifeguard channel their fiery live performances into this powerful EP which puts their subversive, melodic approach to noise music on full display.
